In depth reading, few repetitions ! Outstanding, Thank You!
  • Too many pop-ups

The app was fine until they crapified it with constant pop-ups. Now, before you can read most articles, you have to close the pop- up that’s in the way. It is incredibly annoying. It’s also insulting because the Post assumes you’re too stupid to know what you want to read.

I live in Maine but my husband and I have been digital subscribers for years. I can count on up to the minute news and excellent in depth reporting. But I do miss Phil Rucker and Ashley Parker on the front page. Please free them from behind the desk.

Every other news app allows adjusting the font size while reading a particular article. WP doesn’t and I’m getting sick of paying for a subscription I can’t read without eye glasses.
  • Let readers mark articles as “read” or “not interested”

I would like the option to mark articles as “read” or “not interested” because I continue to see the same article headlines (1) even though I have already read the article or (2) I’m not interested in the article. It’s a waste of scrolling time to see the same article in the feed for an entire week. Scrolling past read or articles I don’t care about could result in me scrolling past new articles I actually want to read. Reading “today’s paper” is an option, but readers should be able to edit their feed.

As a subscriber to the online Washington Post, I am confident in its contents: worldwide news, opinion columns, and human interest stories. Particularly in this contentious and consequential general election season, democracy dies in darkness; and, The Washington Post delivers top-notch coverage that is essential for anyone desiring to be a well-informed citizen and voter. I highly recommend that all of you stay connected to our ever-changing world reality by becoming a subscriber, as well.
  • I use everyday but have one big frustration

I use the listen function, which I think is fantastic with one major exception. That exception is the algorithm for selecting articles. I have complained about this to WP before. The algorithm does not make selections based on my preferences. Instead, it keeps pressing its advice columns. I understand if those are among their most popular but even if they are, advice articles not my preference. After my first complaint, I did not receive a reply but the advice columns stopped for a while, but they are back again, even though I stop the read aloud function every time an advice article comes on. So, the algorithm does not use my preferences nor does it respond to my listening habits.

    Journalism is good !
  • Typing comments too slow

Typing in the comments section is slow as molasses. It takes a full two seconds after I press a letter for it to appear. The app is good otherwise. WaPo has a lot of race baiting articles, but that is a separate consideration from the app. If you hold out on renewing your subscription long enough they’ll give you a deal for $2 a month, which is worth it. They first ask for $150 annually I think (lol). I’ll cancel when the deal is up and renew if they offer the $2 a month deal. Their journalism is OK but the NYT and Economist are far superior.
