Description

Take control of your reading life. Use Leio to time your reading sessions and stay motivated. How many books did you start this year? How many did you finish? How long did it take to read them? Leio can help you answer these questions and many more. Fun fact: Leio means “I read” in Portuguese. --- Leio is a digital journal to help you track and manage your reading. It's designed primarily around physical books, but you can also use electronic readers or other devices. Leio helps you organize your library, your notes and your favorite quotes, but that's just the beginning. Timing your reading sessions makes it easier to set aside some time and turn reading into a habit. The data gathered this way quickly turn into an extensive record of your reading life, providing you with statistics and information about your habits. These data can also be projected into the future: Leio will tell you when you will finish each book and help you plan accordingly. TIMER Time your reading sessions and gain insight into your habits. Life can be distracting: use Leio to set aside some time and focus on your reading. PROGRESS Keep track of where you are in multiple books. A quick look will tell you what page to read next, what percentage of the book you have completed, how long you have read it for and much more. New: add new books easily with Leio's barcode scanner! PREDICTIONS Leio will learn from your habits and give you accurate predictions to help you manage your reading life. Know exactly when you will finish a book and for how long you have to read until you are done. DEADLINES If you need to finish a book by a certain date, Leio can tell you how long or how many pages to read per day to finish in time. You can also play with the settings and come up with your own reading plan: tell Leio how much and how often you plan to read and see when you might finish in real time. PLANNER Tell Leio how often you want to read each book and use the planner section to stay on track. See how much you have read on each day, how much you still have to read, and how much time to set aside to accomplish your goals! ACHIEVEMENTS New: Complete achievements to unlock exclusive iMessage stickers! NOTES AND QUOTES Easily save and search your reading notes and always have them at hand. Share them with your friends or social networks. New: use Leio's text recognition service to save and share your favorite quotes even more easily!* STATISTICS Check how your reading life evolves over time. Charts and data for different timespans will help you stay motivated to read more and more. ARCHIVE Leio will keep an extensive record of your reading sessions, so you will always be able to tell when you started a book, when you finished it, how long it took you to read it, over how many days, how many sessions and much more. Keep track of how much you have read and challenge yourself to read more. Your finished books can be searched or filtered by tags and ratings, so your information is always easy to find! New: export your data to have even more control over your information. SHARE Share your progress with friends or save reports for yourself. This app was really good but over time the quality went down and stability decreased. Now with the new update it appears that all of my data is lost, and the app continually crashes while I try to find any way to get my data back

I’ve been using Leio for more than six years! This awesome app gives you everything you need to track down and manage your reading, without useless features (like a book social meadia clinging to it). Seriously, I got two masters with it and I’m a philosophy PhD student now! It has helped and helps me a lot. As I mentioned in my last review (six years ago!) the only essential missing feature is an alarm feature that informs your rest time after like 30 or 45 minutes of reading (or whatever you set). Please work on it!! The other thing is that when reading, if you wanna know how much you read, you need to unlock your phone. A timer that appears like a notification would be awesome.
  • Moving On …

I’ve been using Leio for years. At the time I found it, it was the only adult reading tracker in the App Store—every other reading app was designed for children or for schoolteachers working with children. In recent years, more and more bugs have crept into Leio and it no longer works reliably. When I finish a book, for example, the book’s status doesn’t change to finished. How dissatisfying is that? … The developer has sent out an email to users saying he’s rewriting the app to modernize the code and asking for patience. Alas, Leio hasn’t been able to recognize when I finish a book for two years now and my patience has expired. … Unlike years ago, the App Store now has at least two dozen reading tracker apps for adults and their UIs look excellent. Long story short, I’m jumping ship. If the Leio overhaul is ever completed, I may return. But I’m not waiting any longer for a reading app that recognizes I’ve finished a book. I give Leio 2 stars because it was a pioneer and still has value—but deduct 3 stars for falling woefully behind its many competitors.

It tracks your reading list , your time, projects when you will finish the book (allows you to change variable such as how many pages you want to read daily or if you want to pace by time), and it allows you write notes and quotes after each session. Beautiful.

This app is great for anyone who really likes tracking their reading or wants to set more goals for reading. But however, when I was using it last night, my phone was beside me while I was reading and if you don’t keep constantly tapping on your phone when the stopwatch is going, then your phone will shut off and you will have to restart the timer. I like this app for all the goals, but then when I read at night, My phone will probably be in other places which is my fault but I don’t wanna go up and get it so when I read, it’s untracked reading so it’ll make my time off. You have to constantly keep tapping your screen when it turns dim or or else your phone shut off and you have to unpause the timer. I also do not really like how they have to make you pay to add different additions to this app. It should all be free because mean it’s a reading app not a game..
  • Still broken

I’m not sure what bugs the most recent update fixed, but I still can’t set a reading plan for any books. I wish I could just roll the app back to last year’s build, which was 5 stars for me. As it is, the app is unusable. Which is a tragedy, because this used to be my favorite app.

Until the most recent updates this app was amazing. Now some of the long term trackers (pages in a week, pages in a month, books in a year) don’t seem to be working. The tags feature seems to be broken. All the benefits of using this tracker over others are now not working.

The Good This is a great app if you want to track your reading progress. From time, pace & reading sessions to the books, lengths & quotes. You can even set goals for reading & scheduling. I genuinely love how in depth it is able to go with my reading data. The graphs are nice visuals. The little stickers for milestones & tasks are a nice touch. The layout is very intricate & took some time to find everything. Once I played around in the app I was able to find everything. The Bad There are small bugs that are displeasing. If you want to see your time & pages on the leaderboard board with Game Center then you have to turn it on. You’ll have to continuously check to make sure it’s one before you start a reading session because it turns itself off. If settings are adjusted (turning on Game Center) then they shouldn’t adjust or toggle themselves. But that’s just me. When it comes to planning, you can schedule to read a book. It doesn’t appear in the scheduled pages even though it tells you to do that.

I’m very happy to see that the recent bugs have been fixed and Leio is once again a terrific reading tracker.
