Description

The gold standard of macOS file transfer apps just drove into the future. Transmit 5 is here. Upload, download, and manage files on tons of servers with an easy, familiar, and powerful UI. Transmit 5 has… MORE SERVERS. Transmit now connects to 11 new cloud services, like Backblaze B2, Box, Google Drive, DreamObjects, Dropbox, Microsoft Azure, and Rackspace Cloud Files. And yes, Transmit still handles the classics — FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, and S3 — better than any. We make complex services drag-and-drop simple. MORE SYNC. Transmit 5 now includes Panic Sync, our secure and fast way to sync your sites. And our robust File Sync feature adds support for local-to-local and remote-to-remote sync, while also giving you more fine-grained control. MORE SPEED. We disassembled Transmit’s engine and rebuilt it, again, to significantly boost speed. T5 is better at multithreading and smarter about complex folders. Plus it’s got a new activity view to better focus on what Transmit is doing right now. It’s very fast. MUCH MORE. - Get Info Sidebar. Inspect items as you browse, right in the browser. - Batch Rename. Powerful, flexible, and built-in for local or remote. - Places Bar. Jump to your favorite folders with a single click. - Keys. Manage and generate secure keys right in Transmit. - Tags - Local-local sync - 2-Factor Login - Open in Terminal - Brand New UI - Extra Large Amazon S3 File Support - And So Much More We hope you enjoy using Transmit. Hit us up anytime if you have any ideas on how to make it even better! SUBSCRIPTION INFO. • Transmit requires a subscription to use. • Expensive subscription, confusing, time-consuming

Back in the '90s and early 2000s, anyone who worked on the internet needed an FTP utility. They were usually free, or very inexpensive shareware. Then along came various services like Dropbox with their own uploaders, and along came social media, and an FTP utility was less needed. Sometimes, though, I still need to upload a large file to a directory on one of my domains. And every year, this app auto-renews and I realize "I'm paying a large sum every year for this FTP, might as well use it." Then I open the app and I can never log into my site. It just doesn't seem to save my password, or doesn't like the one I use. And I end up having to log into my web-hosting service to look up my FTP settings and my password (and those are always hard to find). By the time I've done all that, I figure I might as well upload my file using the File Manager inside my web-hosting service. So I don't use Transmit after all that hassle. If you manage sites where you need to upload files to various directories every day, this subscription-based app might be ideal for you. If you only need to use this once or twice a year like I do, maybe not.

I’ve used Transmit since the Clinton administration. Zero notes. None. This is Mac’s finest app.

Like all Panic software, Transmit is just enough and never too much. Clearly written by developers for developers.

Straightforward app and gets the job done. Love the "droplet" feature.
  • I paid for this app before.. Now it's a subscription

I remember paying $40 or something for this app and now when I restore purchases it says nothing found. And they want $40 a year .. Ridiculous.
  • Just another subscription scam

Transmit was my favorite FTP client, but now they went subscription. Only $25/year! Not EVERYTHING needs to be a subscription. Certainly not an FTP client. Give me a one-time fee for basic functionality and feel free to charge some fee for more bells and whistles, but as it stands I'll go elsewhere.
  • Love this app

I've been using it forever and it's one of the few apps I don't mind paying a subscription to use - it's rock solid and perfect for my workflow.
