Description

Zero-setup Python environment and developer toolbox in a first-class citizen app for iPad and iPhone. Juno is designed to cover all your Python coding needs, and will work seamlessly with all source code formats. Juno supports both Python scripts (.py) and Jupyter notebooks (.ipynb) — a document format focused on applying Python to data analysis and computational science. FREE FEATURES - Navigate and manage files and folders, quickly preview documents and media - Browse and view Jupyter notebooks with quick and beautifully rendered previews - Navigate through code sources, scripts, JSON, XML, and other text-based formats with rich previews and syntax highlighting - Add quick access bookmarks for file system locations outside the app's sandbox, or simply open documents in place PRO FEATURES - Run code in Jupyter notebooks and Python sources locally on your device with a built-in Python 3.10 interpreter, entirely offline - Write and execute Python code in a full-fledged development environment, featuring snappy, intelligent code completion and a console with full terminal emulator support - Access all Jupyter features in a modern, powerful and customizable notebook editor - Leverage powerful data analysis, machine learning and developer tools: NumPy, Matplotlib, SciPy, Scikit-learn, Pandas, LXML, and more - View and edit any file as text in a built-in versatile plain text editor with syntax highlighting - Enjoy painless package management: easily install any pure Python package with an intuitive package manager PYTHON SCRIPTS Python scripts are plain-text Python source code files with a .py extension. Juno lets you work on these with snappy code completion, a console with full terminal emulator support, a built-in media viewer for code-generated images, plots, web apps, and more. Juno will execute the code using an embedded Python interpreter, locally on your iPhone or iPad and completely offline. JUPYTER NOTEBOOKS A Jupyter notebook is a versatile document format that enables you to store live code, markdown text, plots, images, and LaTeX equations — all within a single notebook file with a .ipynb extension. Notebooks serve as excellent Python coding playgrounds for data manipulation and experimentation, and Juno makes working with them a breeze! Notebook documents keep a record of all inputs and outputs from an interactive programming session, and the rich output generated by running Python scripts (including HTML, images, video, and plots) is embedded within the Jupyter notebook document. They are particularly convenient for coding in Python for data analysis, machine learning, or computational science in general.

Reviews

  • Useless download without paid upgrade

I’ve been looking for a reasonable portable environment to do some lightweight Python/Jupyter work on the iPad. Reviews look good, go to download to hoping to be able to try before buy, but nope. The free use of this tool is no different from what you get out of the stock Files app. I would have at least liked to get a feel for how editing with this IDE would have been, but I’m not chancing it on a $25 Pro Upgrade that can’t bother to have any features resembling what’s in the Free app.

Horrible can’t even run code unless you pay them $25
  • Issues with grid search

Every time I run grid search, it’s infinitely loading, it won’t run the result below the code “import from sklearn.model_selection import GridSearchCV”. And the app will crash!
  • No Tensorflow Support

Does not have support for Tensorflow package, cannot be used for my use case.
  • The only editor worth your time

I'm surprised everything is just useful, no exceptions. Idk why other editors don't have colon and underscore come up automatically on the keyboard, even ones specifically made for Python.
  • The best notebook for science and engineering

A sleek and elegant Jupyter client, and the best scientific notebook environment on iPad. Please add a way to collapse code cells while still showing the output and text cells. Sometimes one wants to just read a document without all the code in the way, and only expand code if needed.

App won’t run code without you paying 25 dollars. Waste of time downloading
  • Missing some quality of life features

Don't let 4 stars fool you... This is by far the best Python ide available on the AppStore. Period. Completely worth the asking price. I have exactly ZERO regrets. My only complaints are minor at best and don't even belong here because the app functions perfectly fine as is. I just have quality of life wishes that would take it to a 5 star for me. You really need a dedicated community, an official forum, discord group, something for issues, bugs and suggestions.. I bet it would take off in a hurry.

I love the app it comes with everything you need to work with python on a Normal case. But I really wish there was one thing that could be implemented, and that would be pygame, if the pygame package was able to be installed this app I feel would be even more of perfect app. If any developers find this I would like to know if this is possible, and if so how or when could it be implemented…
