    I use Speechify on my iPhone which works rather well; however the same could not be said for my macbook. At the lauch of the program, it asks to start the free trial (I have already paid for the subscription) & the program then freezes & then locks up my computer to which I have to restart. Its no longer as productive because I now have to download files to my cloud account so I can listen to them on my phone.

    It is a great tool for students who have a lot of reading to do and is unable to do it on their own. I like that I can pick different voices to read to me instead of a boring standard voice. There are some cons I have already experienced with Speechify: 1. I don't like that it doesn't skip all headers (it picks & chooses). 2. it tends to read through tables and I would have to click back to the text to continue where it left off. 3. It reads the captions of textboxes which is unnessary. Suggestions: All headers and footers should be skipped. It should give an option to have textboxes or tables to be read out loud or be skipped as well.

    I like this app, but the issue is the UI.. Its so SLOW and do not acedently click on one of the premium voices.. If you do you get locked into a "free" trial dialog that you can not get out of, and have to force quite the application.

    When I open this app on my mac, it keeps stucking and my laptop got freezed. I have never got forced to restart my laptop before using this app. It needs serious bug fixing.

  • forced premium...or delete?

    i attempted to listen to some different voices, and suddenly a window pops up telling me the voice i chose is a premium voice choice for a small fee of $140. it will not go away, covering most of the, screen rendering anyting im trying to do uselsss. forced to delete just to clear my screen of it. if i delete the app and try to download again, that popup window immediately takes over the scree again.

    Looking for a good app that can do text to speech and was hopeful for this one. I was wrong, It is so buggy and I couldn't even manage to get the trial button to register when I pressed it. This has potential, but needs a LOT of work.

    it is perfect for doing homework and assignments! I can simultaneously listen to the material and do the assignment which makes it much faster to complete. Also it can read basically as fast as you want when you don't have a lot of time

  • I mostly love this app but omg the glitches lately...

    This app got me through a really hard time academiclly and I am incredibly greatful. I have a disability, so speech to text is very important to me. However the glitches are getting worse. On mobile (ios), it will get confused and reread lines then jump forward to catch up as if it was reading the correct stuff the whole time. On Mac computer, there is an ad telling me to subscribe to premium (which I already have!) that has been popping up in the middle of the screen blocking every other window on the computer so I have to try to move it out of the way, but it will refresh and jump right to the center of the screen. I can't close it despite there being a x at the top and I can't fix it by clicking "start trial". I tried uninstalling but it wouldn't let me because it and installing and it's still here.

    The voices are not nearly as good as AI Voice Studio and it has a severe restriction on the size of the audio files you can make from the speech conversion.
