Description

Jesus Calling is your yearlong guide to living a more peaceful life. The Jesus Calling App is the mobile version of the time-tested classic packed with digital and audio features that make this daily devotional more accessible than ever. Experience a deeper relationship with Jesus as you savor the presence of the One who understands you perfectly and loves you forever. With Scripture and personal reflections, New York Times bestselling author Sarah Young brings Jesus' message of peace—for today and every day. By spending time in the presence of the Savior with the much-loved devotions from Sarah Young, you will: • Feel comforted by a daily word of hope and encouragement • Be reassured of Jesus' unending blessings and love for you • Receive gentle guidance based on daily Scripture readings • Connect with Jesus further with reflection and meditation based on God’s Word Written as if Jesus Himself is speaking directly to you, Jesus Calling invites you to experience peace in the presence of the Savior who is always with you. These writings are personal reflections based on Jesus’ own words of hope, guidance, and peace within Scripture—penned by one who loved Him and revered His Word. The Bible is the only infallible, inerrant Word of God, and author Sarah Young kept her writings consistent with that unchanging standard during her lifetime. She wrote from the perspective of Jesus speaking, to help readers feel more personally connected with Him. So, the first person singular (“I,” “Me,” “My,” “Mine”) always refers to Christ; “you” refers to you, the reader. I paid for the app when it first came out and now that it turned to a monthly subscription, I can no longer access the basic content. This is called bait and switch. I’m not able to use the app that I paid for and I’m very displeased. It’s especially concerning that this is Christian author that uses these deceptive practices.

I enjoy these readings ever morning with my coffee. I need to feel his spirit and I sure do when I have that quiet time enjoying the readings!
  • The newest Update excluded my access to daily devotions

I loved this app when I purchased it for $9.99… until they updated it. I had read it every day for almost ten years. When they updated it, I no longer could get my daily devotions. I used to get them easily each day. Now, the app states that I need to pay a monthly subscription fee to get the daily devotions. I already paid for the app. Why should I have to pay a mo they fee on top of that because of an update. I emailed the company 8 times over 2024 and they have not responded. They don’t have a telephone number listed online. I paid for the app and now, many years later, they require a monthly fee even though there’s no new info on the devotions. It seems greedy. Customer service should respond to emails. Other updated apps have never started charging me monthly fees to access info that I have previously paid for.

It’s so disappointing that since the author of this devotional series passed away, the publisher is trying to make money off her ministry. She sold books and would be VERY disappointed to see how this publisher is exploiting her death to make money. As soon as Sarah Young passed away, her vision died with her. She had a gift that she shared with the world. Countless people have no doubt come to Christ because of her. I know I have benefitted greatly from her original work, Jesus Calling. I got a new phone and downloaded the app once more, and I can’t even login to retrieve my paid for ebook to read and feel God’s presence. Shame on you, Harper Publishing. What would, in fact, Jesus actually do? Is He pleased with this con?
  • Paid subscription after originally purchasing years ago

I purchased the app years ago, for my elderly mother also, and we used it daily until it began to charge a monthly subscription fee for what I already paid for. Reading my Jesus Calling daily devotional was the first thing I did before getting out of bed. I am no longer able to do that and my mother keeps calling me wondering why her app doesn’t not work. I feel that I should now have to pay again for previous purchases. I used to look forward every morning to my morning routine with Jesus Calling and now I will just delete the app and pray that God shows me a new app that my mom and I can use to read and discuss our daily devotional. Thank you.
  • Incorrect star rating

The five star rating for this app is completely false. Giving all the negative reviews about app functionality, which I totally agree with, there is no way the five-star total is accurate. This is highly misleading, perhaps false advertising, and needs to be corrected to accurately reflect customer star ratings.

I payed for this app when I first downloaded it, and was able to open readings for each day of the year. Why am I now being asked to subscribe (pay again) to unlock those same readings?! Disheartening.

I have used the one time pay for app that I downloaded years ago. I read it daily and have done so for years over and over again. I had saved notes about certain ones that were so inspirational. I had used it and added notes for so long that it had become a treasured Bible Diary to me. Now it is all gone since you have started urging people to buy your subscriptions. I cannot get back to my saved content which was so personal and private. It wants to start Today’s Reading at January 1 every time. If I try to go to a specific date there is a lock icon and will not open. There’s something wrong with using God’s Word to make money and destroying my purchased app that was so personal and meaningful to me. I very disappointed and feel that I have lost a personal treasure.
  • Jesus Calling app problems

I purchased this app many years ago and my iPad stopped working and it took me while to get a new one. Upon getting a new one and trying to load everything from my old iPad to this new one I see that now I have to pay for the Jesus Calling app of which I’ve already paid for now I’ve had this happen in the past or the developer just doesn’t support it or sell it anymore but this is not the case. I have the book but not always have the book with me. In this case, I really heavily on my phone to help provide the knowledge and comfort that I have so long relied on with the Jesus Calling app. I can’t say enough wonderful things about it. Please help me try to restore this purchase, so I don’t have to pay a monthly subscription for it, I cannot do that. Thank you very much.
