    I keep thinking that it’s got to be there somewhere but it isn’t so I have to do an awkward search just to find the book/ chapter/verse I’m looking for. A direct link to look up a verse should be front and center on the home page.

    The app itself is a good app however this is a Bible app and the ads that pop us are horrendously inappropriate. I would not recommend anyone to use this. It would be better to charge a fee for usage than to continue allowing these ads onto your app platform. I will be deleting after many years of using. Complete turnoff.

  • A valuable tool for Bible study, but needs stability improvements

    The Gateway Bible app has been a tremendous resource in my personal journey through the Scriptures. Its intuitive interface and expansive library of Bible translations make it a powerful tool for deepening one’s understanding of the Word. The search features are precise, allowing me to easily cross-reference passages and explore commentaries with ease. I especially appreciate the app’s ability to highlight and save verses, which has been invaluable for meditation and reflection. However, despite these strengths, I’ve found myself increasingly frustrated with the app’s tendency to crash unexpectedly. More concerning is that, on several occasions, it has failed to retain my saved verses and notes. As a student of the Bible, I rely on the ability to revisit specific passages and insights during my study, and the loss of these saved materials has been discouraging and frustrating. I truly believe that with improved stability, Gateway Bible could be an even more indispensable tool for those seeking to grow in their faith. I hope future updates will address these technical issues so that this app can continue to serve its purpose of bringing believers closer to the Word without distraction.

  • Product fails to follow app user interface guidelines

    When an iPad is in dark mode and you want to read the Bible late at night and you have your iPad set to dark mode so it’s a black screen was white and open. Bible Gateway light will sign so brightly in your eyes and your spouse and everybody else in the house up. Either Apple has failed to properly approve this product as meeting in their user interface guidelines or Bible Gateway is in violation of that user in the face guidelines by not looking at and using the dark light mode feature, so I cannot open the News Bible Gateway at night. It would be nice if I could because it’s a nice product butthe developers either don’t know how to do this or they decided not to do it, either reason is the reason enough for me to write this so low. Bible Gateway, some real Apple developers that understand the user interface guidelines and how to write an app that replies with them.

    I purchased the Bible Gateway Plus and it work great on my computer but this app does not give me an option to log in. None of the resources I pay for are available on the app. I will not renew my subscription to Bible Gateway Plus since I cannot access the plus features through the app.

    Glitchy, crashes. Ads pop up in middle and at bottom. Raise the money and make a better app and remove ads. I’ve always used you on website and was looking forward to easy access app. But it’s not seeming worth it unless you upgrade and improve.

    I’m so sorry for what has happened to this app! It’s so secular now, riddled with games and ads that immediately begin running upon opening the app. More often then not, I have to turn off my phone and turn it back on to get the ads to stop running so I can read / heard the word. There are other free bible apps that don’t hold you captive to hear the word of God.
