Customers can scam contractors. You can do the job the and the customer can go back and mess with it trying to do it them selves then mess it up. They will then call Amazon and say I want to submit a claim. Amazon is so big they do not look at the claims they just process them. The app will charge you for a order that Amazon has cancelled. They will say we will give you more for this order then when you put the claim they will say. We don’t see it. I don’t have time to be looking for stuff on the computer all day back tracking looking for emails verifying emails that they have already sent. I don’t get paid for that. I get paid to work. Amazon does not send enough jobs for me to hire someone one.

Been approved and all ok. Downloaded the app. Two weeks? Don’t even know if Ad is on and live. No requests. Zero. Are there updates? Knock knock, amazon! Is it the app? Is it me? Is it my phone? Or is it amazon! After reading the comments, will just have to wait and see. Disappointing.
  • Abandoned App?

It seems that Amazon has either abandoned this app or simply doesn’t care to provide useful tools to their service providers. At the time of this writing (Feb 2019) the app hasn’t been updated in 11 months and still doesn’t support modern iPhone sizes from the 2017 iPhone X and onward. Notifications are hit and miss and the app has constant server side 404 errors while messaging and trying to integrate with the web based dashboard.
  • Communicating with customers

Amazon gives you a number to send a text message to the customer. This number is not verified by Amazon. It is often an old number and a landline that will not receive the text messages that you send to confirm the appointment. Also the contact for Amazon is the customer contact, not the service provider. You always have to wait on hold, give your information and then get transferred and wait on hold again.

I appreciate being able to sell services on Amazon. That program is fine. I just think the Selling Services app needs some attention. I have my alerts enabled for the app, but I never get a notification or app badge when I have a new request for estimate. Fortunately I still get email alerts, but sometimes those get buried with junk and I want to be able to reply to a quote request as fast as I can. Also, I spent quite a bit of time setting up various packages and prices in my online account, but I don't have any access to those packages through the app. This means more time creating a custom bid every time. I'm a little confused in where those packages actually come into play in the customer's experience. I know this is still sort of a new system that Amazon is rolling out so I look forward to seeing the various issues resolved over time.
  • Don't depend on Amazon..

Don't depend on Amazon to be an intricate part of your business cash flow. If you do you'll be forced to depend on this App. Beyond being very poor design wise. The nightmare scenario is that ALL jobs come through now only as notifications on this app. Between my partner and I we have had our app stop notifying us three time. Notifications are on the App just bugs out. Over the holiday it took days for us to realize this and we have for the first time since we started working with Amazon, a completely empty calendar. Add on top of this the uncertainty how you get awarded jobs and the huge Amazon Tax they charge on every job and you have yourself a mess. I have to say that one positive thing is they do allow you some control over your costs vs. other services. I can take a job and know what I'll be paid. With other services you pay to bid and unfortunately customers many times are just testing he waters with those services. Here they have committed to buy with a predetermined price.
  • Inconvenient

If job is scheduled to be done during the current week, app does not indicate the date of the job , but the Weekday only. Therefore it is very inconvenient to schedule another job without looking at the separate calendar. That would be nice to have a real calendar build in the app indicating all scheduled jobs.
